All Rotarians are invited to join us at PETS 2012

The PETS Programme is now available.

It is one of the requirements of Rotary International for all Presidents Elect to attend this training session in order to take office. It is therefore compulsory for all Presidents Elect of District 9320 to attend PETS .

There will be 3 separate sessions on Saturday 24th March.

  • One session is for President Elects only. This session is to train the President Elect for their year ahead and can ONLY be attended by Presidents Elect.
  • A second session is for all Rotarians and guests attending and will be a general Rotary information session. All are welcome.
  • Anns and partners are invited to attend a separate spouses programme.

Remember - later in the year two separate training sessions (one in the north and one in the south) will be held for Secretaries, Treasurers, Membership and Foundation Chairs. These will be one day events and the only cost will be a light lunch and travel costs.

I am a President Elect and therefore my attendance is obligatory.
Do I still need to register?

Yes!

Registration fees for Presidents-Elect to be paid for by their own club.  Accommodation and travelling costs can be claimed from the District Treasurer.

R250 per night and 80c per kilometer.  Claim forms will be distributed at PETS.

But note - if you miss the registration deadline and therefore incur Late Registration penalties, these may NOT be claimed!

What is PETS?

PETS stands for Presidents Elect Training Seminar.  The Seminar deals with different aspects of the role of a Club President who is to be empowered to lead his/her Club, ensuring that it functions effectively.  In this sense an effective Rotary Club is able to:

  1. Sustain or increase its membership base.
  2. Implementing successful projects that address the needs of its community and communities in other countries.
  3. Support The Rotary Foundation through both programme participation and financial contributions.
  4. Develop leaders capable of serving Rotary beyond Club level.

District Assembly

The purpose of the District Assembly is to prepare incoming Club leaders for their year in office and build their leadership team. It will take place on the Sunday.

Presidents Elect are urged to bring mandates from their Clubs to vote on District Budget for 2012 - 2013 which is avalaible here for download.

How Do I Register?

You may register online. Alternatively, the Registration form can be downloaded for "pen and paper" registration. Either way, please make your payment by direct deposit or electronic transfer into the PETS account.

All incoming Presidents are reminded that attendance is now compulsory under RI's bye-laws (not for just our District!). All fees (including any Late Registration penalty) must be paid upon submission of the registration form.

Check-in at PETS will be from 15:00 to 17:00 on Friday 23 March. However, you should please submit your registation form online or by fax before 16 March. You will receive your documentation for the seminar and your name tags when you check-in.
