Rotary Club of Port Alfred
Hans and Tina have been married for 39 years and are Shareholders and Directors of Kwena Air (Pty) Ltd, which they started in 1984. The Company was incorporated as an Air Charter, Inbound Tourism and Aerial Survey Company, providing a wide variety of solutions to other existing international clients. During 2002 they moved their offices and residence from Johannesburg to Port Alfred.
After completing his education in Hamburg, Hans immigrated to South Africa and, prior to starting Kwena Air together with Tina, he worked for an engineering company as marketing manager in charge of agency section.
Hans joined the Rotary Club of Port Alfred in 2003 and served as Director of Community Service between 2004 and 2007 and again in 2009. He initiated several large Matching Grant projects for the club and served as president during the 2010/2011 Rotary year. In addition to the Community Service and Rotarian of the year awards, Hans is a Paul Harris Fellow.
Tina joined the Rotary Club of Port Alfred in 2004, and served as President of the Ann’s during the 2010/2011 Rotary year. She has initiated several major fundraising shows for the Rotary Club and is a member of the Rotary International Fellowship of Travel Agents, IFTA.
For Hans and Tina, Rotary is a way of life and every project that makes a difference to the community, is a highlight in their Rotary experience. Hans and Tina enjoy travelling, opera and ballet and, of course, taking their two Weimeramer dogs for long walks on the beach.
