QUALIFICATIONS
OF PROSPECTIVE GSE TEAM CANDIDATES

Applicants for
GSE Teams must be:-
Citizens of South Africa or Lesotho who either work or live in District 9320 and who are between 25 – 40 years old.
(An applicant may not turn 25 after or 40 before the team departure date.)
To fulfil the rigorous and extensive demands of international travel and active participation in multi-week activities candidates must also be:
- in good health;
- neat in appearance;
- able to express themselves clearly and logically;
- of sound general educational background and cultural awareness;
- interested in and clearly enthusiastic about their chosen vocations, and in possession of outstanding vocational skills;
- able to benefit from vocational visits in the chosen countries;
- employed on a full-time basis in their chosen professions for a minimum period of two years prior to leaving on the exchange;
- able to travel for the full tour with their employer’s assent;
- open minded, tolerant and flexible;
- proficient and fluent in the languages of the host district;
- able to receive, already in possession of , a visa to the host country;
- able to depart from the same location and on the same date as the rest of the team.
Suitable Rotaract members should be encouraged to apply for team membership.
Ineligibility Rules:-
The following are not eligible for team membership:
-
A Rotarian or honorary Rotarian, a member of a Provisional Rotary Club or an employee of a Rotary club or district or of Rotary International;

Any Rotarian’s, honorary Rotarian’s, or Rotary employee’s spouse, or lineal descendant (child or grandchild by blood), or stepchild (legally adopted or not) or spouse of a lineal descendant;
-
A spouse of another team member;
-
The spouse, or lineal descendant (child or grandchild by blood), or stepchild (legally adopted or not) or spouse of a lineal descendant of a former Rotarian, Honorary Rotarian or Rotary employee who has resigned for the express purpose of allowing an ineligible candidate to become a team member.(A former Rotarian must have been resigned from Rotary at least three years before the date of application for him or her or any of the previously mentioned ineligible persons to be eligible for team membership.)
